Kim Dunaway has been a fixture in the Murfreesboro community for almost 20 years. As the oldest child of Kenneth and Ruby Hillsman, Kim took over operations of Sunshine Nutrition Center in 2005. Seeking additional knowledge to help the public, Kim returned to school in 2011 to become a registered dietitian. She has a bachelor's degrees in Nutrition and Food Science from MTSU and a master's degree in Community Health and Nutrition from Tennessee Tech. Kim has additional nutrition training in integrative and functional nutrition from Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy, Bloom and Grow with Camille Freeman, and Susan Allen's Next Level Nutrition. Kim received her herbalism training from The Gaia School of Healing.
Kim has been teaching mind-body classes in the Murfreesboro community since 2012. She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at The Yoga Nest in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, an 85-hour Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training under Jessalyn Hakanson, and her 300-hour teacher training at Sanctuary for Yoga in Nashville, TN under Daphne and Tom Larkin. Her therapeutic yoga training includes an 800-hour yoga therapy certification with Spanda Yoga Movement Therapy under Dr. Jaime Schmitt and a therapeutic 300-hour training with Yoga Medicine under Tiffany Cruikshank. She has additional training in Yoga for Scoliosis, Yin Yoga, Meditation, Restorative Yoga, Anatomy, Yoga History & Philosophy, and Yoga for Athletes. Kim is also the founder of Boro Yoga Fest and co-lead trainer of Indigo Yoga School.
Kim also has M.S. in Business Administration. She has multiple health and fitness certifications including Health Coach (National Society of Health Coaches), Personal Trainer (ACE), and Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM).
